A Touch of Life in Shanghai

Come and join us to explore the Shanghaiese real life: visit Shanghai's first planned development, community center established in 1951, where the local neighbourhood committee will be hosting us. In the shared recreational facility, the neighbourhood committee will introduce us to the village and its history, and we will participate in some community activities -  visiting various classes of local, retired inhabitants (ranging in age from 50 to 80) in areas such as dancing, singing, runway modeling, photoshop editing, and ping pong playing. In each instance, the class participants will welcome us and invited us to participate with them (dancing, ping pong) or perform for us and asked us to reciprocate. After the community center, we will visit a neighborhood wet market and then proceeded to the home of local Chinese family, be their guests and enjoy a great Chinese home cooking lunch. There, we will learn how to stuff, fold, and seal Won Ton dumplings with minced pork, vegetable, and local seasonings. Following the preparation, we will also learn to cook some Chinese food with the family together and in the end we will enjoy this great Chinese home cooking lunch with our new friends.
