Shanghai Free Trade Zone Visit

The mission of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone is to explore the proper relationship between the government and market, establish negative list management and continue financial reform.

Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ) is the first Hong Kong-like free trade area in mainland China. It was personally endorsed by Premier Li Keqiang who said he wanted to make the zone a snapshot of how China can upgrade its economic structure. The mission of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone is to explore the proper relationship between the government and market, establish negative list management and continue financial reform. Since it was established in 2013, it has carried out institutional reform and innovation in areas of investment, foreign trade, finance and post-filing supervision to form a legal framework for investment and trade within the zone. It has adopted the negative list for investment management, simplified foreign trade supervision procedures, promoted financial system reform to realize RMB capital account convertibility, and advocated post-filing supervision as a way to transform government functions. This tour will bring you to Shanghai Free Trade Zone to visit the area, learn about its investment, law and regulation. It lasts around 2hrs and ends with a discussion with their management team.
